It happened at a venue on the High Street in the early hours of Christmas Eve.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the victim as he left the night club and walked towards ASDA at Corporation St from where he was taken to hospital, is asked to call police investigator Don Reeves-French on 01926 415000, extension 3742.
