Eleven people have been arrested as part of an operation tackling organised crime in Rugby.

A series of co-ordinated dawn raids were carried out both in the town, as well as Wolverhampton and Nottingham.

Officers recovered quantities of Class A and B drugs wuth an approximate street value of 75,000 pounds.

Assistant Chief Constable Neil Brunton stated that he is delighted with the success of the operation.

He said: "These are some excellent results following some really hard work by members of our dedicated workforce. We are committed to protecting people from harm and ensuring that we do everything in our power to cut organised crime and the supply of drugs into our communities.

"Warwickshire Police will do all within its power to protect communities from harm and this operation demonstrates how we have limited the ability for organised crime groups to operate within Rugby and harm local communities.

"In order to defeat organised crime we must seize every opportunity to tackle it. Organised crime takes place in local communities and causes harm to local communities. We are using every tool at our disposal to bring maximum disruption to the lives of those who harm local people.

"This operation has been a massive success, however we will not rest on our laurels and we will continue to use all tactics available to dismantle organised crime groups that are identified as causing the most significant harm to our communities in Warwickshire."
