A NEW CATHOLIC SCHOOL IN RUGBY IS NOT 'NEEDED' ENOUGH

The government's knocked back a second attempt to save a Rugby school, on the basis there's not enough demand.

Education bosses have refused a bid for cash from the Fresh Start scheme for Bishop Wulstan.

The decision has angered parents and the wider school community alike who have campaigned furiously to save the school.

The money would have been used to replace the Oak Street school with a new Catholic school serving three to 18 year olds.

TRAVELLERS BACK UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT

Both travelling camps currently in Rugby have been here before.

Officers at the Borough Council have revealed to Rugby FM that both groups are known to both themselves and the police.

They've revealed the group on the Westway carpark are here for a family funeral, and the others say they are only passing through.

Legal papers have been served.

Both camps will appear at Coventry Crown on Monday if they don't leave before.

MOBILE HOME OWNERS FAST TRACKED ON HOUSING LISTS

Residents living on a dangerous campsite are being put ahead of homeless families on Rugby's housing lists.

Residents at Hilltop have been ordered to leave their mobile homes after a report branded the site a health and safety risk.

There is currently 12 families without long term provision - 6 of those will be put at the top of the housing list.

It comes as the housing list in Rugby exceeds one thousand.

APPEAL FOR INFORMATION TO HELP A SERIOUSLY ILL MAN

There's urgent calls for information from Rugby to help save a man suffering a rare and painful disease.

Kancen Vaghela, who lives in Rugby, is desperately trying to find help for her brother who has lymphatic fil-ari-asis.

Although the condition is not life threatening, its one of the world's most disfiguring.

It's also what doctors believed originally The Elephant Man was suffering from.
